Please share your memories of the Queen?

We are all shaken to the core by the news that the Queen died yesterday. It's a major event in British and world history.

I thought it would be interesting if everyone could share their personal memories of The Queen. Please do so in this thread.

I saw the Queen once - at the Royal Wedding of William and Kate. I saw her drive by as I stood on the Mall covering the Wedding for Anglotopia (I also saw the whole family on the balcony later). I never got to meet her, but I certainly wish I had. I hope to one day meet King Charles.

    I am hurting a lot. I have reacted badly to adverse media comments particularly from certain so-called academics in the US. In short, I have four non-military medals with the Queens image on one side. They are only of value to me because they have her image.
