How likely is that travel to the UK will be easier in August 2022?

I’m currently planning a trip to Britain for next summer. I’m a little worried about the test you have to take on the second day of your trip. I’m afraid of a false positive. Would you still go if you could? I also don’t like the idea of having to spend time on my trip self-isolating while I wait for the results. I understand why it’s necessary, that I don’t have an issue with. I’m double vaccinated and have had my booster shot.

  • It's difficult to say this far in advance, as the rules just changed and will change again. However, based on how things were this past year, I highly doubt they will continue the test requirement/isolation thing.

We have a trip planned for the end of January, but it's looking like we'll have to cancel it. But the testing has nothing to do with it.

I recently had to go to Ireland for business (for my day job) - I had to test before departure to Ireland, and test before I returned home. Really, it wasn't that big of an inconvenience, and I'd do it again.
